KMC GROUP History

  • 1987

    The first step has been taken, in Kayseri, when Ahmet Eren gives Ziya Eren the responsibility of establishing EREN METAL in a 35 square meter store to do steel trade.

  • 1990

    Fair trade, reliable relations and commuting to Istanbul, which is the source of raw material, has been developed.
    Ukraine doors were opened and import opportunities have been arised.

  • 1994

    The first place was purchased in the Organized Industrial Zone for manufacturing.
    The first roll-form machine was bought.
    Large volume trade is being accelerated.
    The first import occured.

  • 1998

    The company structure has been grown, developed and import has been improved.

  • 2000

    Focused on steel business.With support of the new members of the team, an important period was begun, and KMC LTD was established. An important step has been taken by buying two cut to length machine and a forklift from Netherlands, in order to become one of the first steel service centers which gives service to the large industrial customers in Kayseri. Coil slitting line was established to become a steel service center which meets leading industrialists’ needs.

  • 2001

    68,000 tons of materials were purchased based on 2001 crisis’ predictions. Through creating a positive return, almost every company’s path in the steel business in Turkey crossed with KMC.

  • 2004

    Due to the fact that the center of the operation is Eregli and Istanbul, it is no longer possible to fit in Kayseri.
    The current location of KMC Steel Service Center Gebze facilities was purchased and the facility was established.
    Horizontal growth was initiated by incorporating the MGE company into KMC.
    The current location of MGE company in Dilovası was purchased.
    Export has begun to grow and develop with those who join the family.
    Required by time, modern cut-to-length and slitting machines were purchased and a machine section that will provide superiority over competitors was established this year.

  • 2006

    The basis of being the only company which holds a wide range of product variety in Turkey has been laid. By changing the perspective and vision of KMC, the customer profile and consequently the product range are changing and developing. Galvanized , plate , hot rolled coil has been met and achieved being Turkey's steel store location with the rapid momentum.

  • 2008

    It has become a company which has an annual sales capacity of 600,000 tons. The first inventory, sales, operation, and ERP system was created specifically for KMC, which is one of the most important milestones that brought the company to its current position.

  • 2009

    The sales capacity of the previous year has been growing exponentially.

  • 2010

    TUT KELEPÇE / ER-Bİ was purchased.

  • 2011

    The acquisition of MEKO, which helps KMC to maintain its horizontal growth, is taking place.

  • 2013

    By making a great investment in the facilities where MEKO is located now, the foundations of its present position has been laid.

  • 2015

    Joint venture cooperation was established with GÖKTAŞ which KMC had a long term relation with.

  • 2017

    Investments has been continued without a break and ZEREN GYO was established. Ziya Eren’s experience gained by him being the president of Kayseri Erciyes Sport continues by purchasing Crawley Town FC in England.

  • 2019

    Hotel investments has started and Wyndham Çerkezköy Hotel was put into service. Hotel investments has continued with the hotel foundation of which was laid in Ataşehir.

  • 2020

    The gathering of existing companies under KMC GROUP and institutionalization efforts has been carried out.

  • 2021

    All kinds of investments and development plans continue to be implemented in order to make a high contribution to the Turkish economy by being reliable and pioneer in technology and by having long-term cooperation with all the stakeholders.
